This Château La Conseillante 2007 wins the heart of many wine connoisieurs. It has a very pretty bouquet with tarry black cherry fruit, black truffle and incense. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a keen line of acidity, very focused with plenty of freshness and tension on the finish.

About the Producer

Acquired by Jean-Pierre Moueix in 1953, Château Trotanoy has stood as a cornerstone of Pomerol's elite crus since the late 18th century. Its name, "Trotanoy," reflects the formidable nature of its soil—a dense blend of clay and gravel that hardens to near-concrete solidity after rainfall, making cultivation a daunting endeavor.

The vineyard's gentle westward slope reveals a diverse soil composition, with gravel at its highest point gradually giving way to clay as elevation decreases. Beneath lies a layer of red gravel and an impermeable stratum of iron-rich "crasse de fer," contributing to the wine's remarkable power, depth, and complexity. Vinification occurs in small concrete vats, followed by aging in oak barrels.

Trotanoy epitomizes natural profundity, complexity, and concentration, with exceptional aging potential. Its deep hue and potent bouquet of dark chocolate intertwine seamlessly on the palate, a testament to the vineyard's ancient vines and unwavering commitment to quality.
