Château Lafite Rothschild is one of the most renowned wine properties in the Médoc.

The 2014 vintage impressively retains its opulent and expressive bouquet, reminiscent of the renowned Mouton-Rothschild. Layers of blackberry and boysenberry fruit dominate the nose, accompanied by hints of juniper berry. This vintage presents a more extroverted expression of Lafite-Rothschild compared to recent years. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with crisp tannins, displaying remarkable focus and linearity. The flavor profile is characterized by abundant black fruit, complemented by cedar and tobacco notes. 

Perfect year to drink now, yet it still shows excellent potential for another decade of aging.

 

About the Producer

Winemaking at the legendary Château Lafite Rothschild can be traced back to 1234. The estate earned its Premier Grand Cru Classé status when Baron James de Rothschild acquired Lafite in 1868. It has continued to produce iconic and prestigious wines under the Rothschild family, with the latest family owner, Saskia de Rothschild, the youngest woman to run a Premier Grand Cru Bordeaux estate.
