The Barton family, owners of Léoville Barton and Langoa Barton in Saint-Julien, bought this Moulis estate in August 2011, so this is their first vintage here. 2011 had a hot spring followed by a cool, wet July and August. The blend is 46% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Critics describe violets, cassis and bramble fruit, with elegance over power, firm tannins and a dry finish.
